Coming Soon - The Callisto Protocol

Anticipation is building around the debut title from Striking Distance Studios, led by Dead Space co-creator and for Call of Duty vet Glen Schofield. Particularly, after news broke at the end of last month, the title would no longer be released in Japan due to the graphic nature of the game.

A tweet published by The Callisto Protocol's Japan Twitter account stated;

"We have determined that the game cannot pass the CERO rating in its current state and that changing the content will not provide the experience that players expect."

Of course, the Tweet was originally published in Japanese. So, we are taking Eurogamer's word for it, as they verified the translation. Regardless, fans of the horror genre will be salivating at the mouth to get their tentacles on this one.

You can watch Glen answer questions from Twitter below, after he sat down with Wired in the build-up to TCP's launch.

More About The Game

'Cast as Jacob Lee - an inmate in Black Iron Prison. When a mysterious outbreak throws the moon into chaos, Jacob must face his darkest fears to defeat the bloodthirsty creatures that stalk him as he unravels the dark mysteries at the heart of the powerful United Jupiter Company.

The latest trailer showcases thrilling performances from Transformers star Josh Duhamel as Jacob Lee, The Boys star Karen Fukuhara as Dani Nakamura, and Sam Witwer as Leon Ferris.  The trailer also features the song “Lost Again”, a dramatic new track from Kings Elliot, written exclusively for The Callisto Protocol.'

The screenshots depict a beautifully gruesome world we cannot wait to immerse ourselves in.
