Crossroads Inn Debuts On Kickstarter Today
$30 000 and world fame - this is what Crossroads Inn developers are aiming for. Today studio has just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Warsaw-based Kraken Unleashed, an in-house development studio of Klabater, wants to expand the scale of its extremely ambitious project. The game will appear on PC and Xbox One this year.
Crossroads Inn combines two most popular genres - management sim and RPG. Thanks to this unique blend, it goes beyond the scheme known from the typical simulator games, thus refreshing the somewhat rusty genre. Patryk Pietraszkiewicz, studio head and the originator of the project, explains the decision:
The game offers 3 different modes: campaign, sandbox and predefined scenarios. The first one allows you to experience a non-linear adventure with elements of RPG. The commercial decisions made by players will be widely echoed, arousing the interest of powerful forces on the political scene of Delcrys, the low-fantasy realm in which the Crossroads Inn takes place. The second mode will appeal best to fans of simulation games. It focuses on managing your own business and developing the inn. Predefined scenarios, on the other hand, are a list of specific challenges to be overcome in certain conditions.
After the successes of Iron Harvest or the recent Nemesis, we know how important it is to involve the community in the title creation process. Since we announced the start of development of the game, we have constantly met with interest and questions about features, which we didn't originally assume, and which turn out to be very important for our fans. Hence the idea of collecting additional funds to expand the title - says Szczepan Rozalski, who works on the storyline of the game.
In Crossroads Inn the player takes on the role of a young lad, who starts his career as a sidekick in the tavern at the meeting point of three eternally divided kingdoms. The whole land is rumbling about the sudden death of King Owen and the protagonist himself is soon entangled in the political intrigue of the upcoming election of a new successor to the Throne.

The campaign on Kickstarter is scheduled to start on 12 February 2019 and will last 30 days.
